Kenya Ndaro-Ini

Kenya

With perfect climate conditions, the Ndaro-Ini factory processes fully developed, mature coffee cherries from 1800 smallholder farmers in the surrounding areas.

About the Kenyan Ndaro-Ini Factory

Factory Ndaro-Ini Wetmill is a factory built in 1984 and run by the Gikanda Farmers Co-operative Society. The GFCS delivers the coffee to the Ndaro-Ini factory in addition to two other wet mills. This last one was founded in 1996, is one of the most well-known cooperatives in Central Kenya, and produces regularly stellar lots of coffee.

Ndaro-Ini has an unusual water spring source to wash their coffee beans, providing them a competitive advantage compared to other factories. The wet mill processes coffee from 700 smallholder farmers around Gatundu town. GFCS has invested heavily in their factories and producers by putting lots of resources into ensuring that the processing goes perfectly.

What makes this Kenyan coffee so special?

Coffee processed at the Ndaro-Ini factory comes really mature; this results in a beautiful, sweet cup with vibrant berry and red currant notes. The coffee is fermented for 16-24 hours under closed shade, then they are washed with local spring water. Ndaro-Ini has such flavourful and rich crops of coffee beans due to the attention to detail the farmers and the coop provide.

Kenyan coffees are famous for their rich flavors and berry undertones. Hot or cold, this is a lot to not miss out!
